開始から激しいディフェンスの応酬が繰り広げられる。
開始3分で4ファウルと苦しい展開に追い込まれる千葉に対し、琉球はディフェンスリバウンドから果敢にアタックを仕掛け加点。
シュートが決まらず苦しい時間が続く中、終盤に#11 西村のフローターからようやくスコアが動き始める。
3連続得点で追い上げるも、4点ビハインドで最初の10分を終える。

琉球 31-28 千葉
#1 ダンカンがこのQ最初の得点となる3Pを決めると、#5 田口、#11 西村も続き一気に逆転に成功する。
しかし琉球も#12 エアーズの3P、#44 ジョーンズのインサイドで返し、試合はシーソーゲームに。
リードで第2Q後半に突入するが、ターンオーバーから琉球#14 岸本のファストブレイク、さらに#33 ブラウンの3Pでリードを奪われてしまう。

#27 石井の3Pなどで徐々に点差を縮めていくものの、琉球も#33 ブラウンや#14 岸本のインサイドで加点しなかなか主導権を握ることができない。
2桁点差を追いかける展開のまま、勝負の最終Qに突入する。

琉球 79-67 千葉
開始直後#5 田口の3Pで1桁点差に戻すものの、琉球も#51 古川のAND1が決まるなど勢いが止まらず、一進一退の攻防戦が繰り広げられる。
お互いに相手が決めれば決め返すような展開が続く中、千葉8点ビハインドでオフィシャルタイムアウトに。
しかし第4Q後半になっても自分たちのリズムを作れず、点差を縮めることができない。
最後まで粘り強く加点するも琉球の勢いを抑えることができず、悔しい敗戦となった。
